Questions

Do my customers need to download an app?

No. They scan your QR code or use the check-in screen in your shop, and their spot is tracked on a web page.

Does it work on an iPad?

Yes. Open the shop display in the browser on a landscape iPad and it fits the screen. To keep it awake, set Auto-Lock to Never in the iPad’s Display & Brightness settings.

What if someone doesn’t want to use their phone?

The shop display lets walk-ins type their name and number on the screen. Your barbers can also add a walk-in from their dashboard.

Can I stop people joining from home?

Yes. Turn on in-person only, and customers must enter a 4-digit code shown on your shop display. The code changes every minute, so a photo of the QR code isn’t enough.

How do texts work?

Customers tick a box agreeing to texts about their place in line and a follow-up after their visit. They’re texted when they’re almost up, when they’re called, and with a review request afterward. They can reply STOP at any time. Customers who don’t give a phone number get no texts.

Are texts included in the price?

Each location includes 1,000 text messages a month. Extra texts are billed at a small per-text rate.

What if a customer doesn’t show up when called?

They get a few minutes, which you can set. If they’re 10 minutes away they can ask for more time once. After that they’re marked as a no-show and the line moves on.

How are wait times worked out?

At first from the times you set for each service. After a few visits, from how long each barber actually takes.

Who can see my customers’ information?

Only your shop’s signed-in team. The shop display shows first names only, and other shops can never see your customers.

Can I use it for more than one shop?

Yes. Add locations under one login. Each has its own line, barbers, hours and QR code.

Can I use it for something other than a barbershop?

NXDUP is built for barbershops first. If you run another walk-in business, get in touch and tell us about it.

What does it cost?

See the pricing page. There’s a 14-day free trial.
